Youngest child:
M climbs into my lap this morning. Snuggles up.
"Mom, did it hurt?" in his sweetest little sappy voice.
"Did what hurt, sweetie?"
"When you fell from heaven." Giggles, and a little kiss on the cheek.
Middle child:
Upon leaving for his first hunting trip, with his very own rifle, and his very own deer tag, K says, as he's going out the door at 5 am,
"Mom, kiss me goodbye. Today I leave a boy and come back a man." Flashes his classic toothy grin, because he knows he's being a cornball.
Oldest child:
She was told that when she was ready to drive, and her room "condition" was improved or becoming noticeably better, to come to us and present her case and "reasons" for driving. Her awareness of the seriousness of this impending responsibility, the awareness of the financial burden, etc....
"Mom and Dad, I would like to take driver's ed. It will be very convenient for you, for me to drive, because I can take care of all those annoying errands, like picking up groceries and taking kids to practices. I would be very helpful and useful."
Painfully obvious "reasons," that almost insult our intelligence as thoughtful parents, however, these reasons work because we agree to her taking driver's ed. :-) Stinker.
That's all folks

Awesome. C is awesome. Tell her I said so.
I agree with M wholeheartedly. I am convinced it did not hurt when you "fell down" because big ol' earthly Craig caught you and boy, can he catch an angel!
K scares me because he has that grin and then he has that gun...But, if he can hack off a chicken's head, he is good to go and totally ready. I hope his trip went well.
Thanks Rach.
And just for the record, C did express her considerable respect for the task before her (ie she knows driving is a big deal). :-)
K did not get a deer. Neither did big manly hubby. But they saw lots and took a shot or two. Also, today, they "heard a bear." At first Craig thought it was his stomach rumbling! (That made me laugh)
