Today it is snowing great guns. White blizzard weather. Drove the kids to school this morning (#2 child cannot ride the bus right now; don't ask) and am nervous about picking them up this afternoon.
We might lose another pig today. Last night DH said it didn't look sick, just more docile than usual. This morning he gave it a shot of antibiotics. Having pigs through the cruel dead of winter isn't working out in my opinion. We lost a lot of chickens to the cold and wind as well. Their water froze and we just couldn't keep up with it. I think there's only about 50 left right now. They're not laying either. CKM Farms is in a slump it would seem.
This weekend, Sunday to be exact, I will be married to DH eighteen (18) years. Youngest sister graciously offered to have our kids stay at her house Saturday night so we could have some P&Q (peace and quiet). We plan to go to dinner and catch a movie. Thanks to my eldest brother for his great Christmas gift of a date night as we will apply it to the dinner bill :-) Sunday morning should be quiet as well. Youngest child suggested we "get a round table and two chairs and put a white sheet on it" and have breakfast just for two. I love the "white sheet" part.
