Ever since 4-H swine activities have entered our household and lives, now I know what "this little piggy went to market" really, truly means! It means that little piggy's little lifey is over! Sad. Nursery rhymes are really cruel and scary-realistic!
So DH came home yesterday and brought 13 little piggies from Montana. Three are for us. C gets one pig for 4-H and K gets one, too. M gets to raise a gilt (female pig that hasn't had a litter) up to full-grown and then hopefully we'll get to breed her. M can't raise a 4-H pig for market yet because he's not quite old enough. Next year though and he gets to be a pig entrepreneur.
They're all so cute! They run and jump on each other and smoosh together and bite and cuddle and snort and chortle and drink and eat and sleep. It'll be sad to see the 10 go tonight to their new 4-H owner but it was fun to have them for a little while. What a crew! 13!
"...and this little piggy ran whee-whee-whee, all the way home." You bet that little piggy did! He knew if he didn't then *WHACK* it was curtains for him!
That's all folks
